Here is an update on School Supplies for 20-21 from Del Phillips
SCS Community,
Our school board unanimously adopted our 2020-2021 school district budget last night (5/19.) It will be submitted to our County Commission for approval in June.
To help support our families and students, our school district will purchase all K-8 school supplies in the 2020-2021 school year. We believe that purchasing these items for parents and students will be a financial relief to every Sumner County family as we plan to reopen schools in August.
Parents will be asked to provide only the following items for students next school year:
- Calculator
- Headphones
- Protractor
- Compass
District purchased school supplies will be given to all students as they return to school in August.
In highest regard,
Del R. Phillips III Ph.D.

Welcome to Guild Elementary School's website! We thank you for stopping by and visiting our site and encourage you to explore the other links. Our hope is to maintain the sight so that parents, students, and other stakeholders stay most currently informed about the great things happening at Guild, current school policies and procedures, and upcoming events for students and families.
Guild Elementary School strives to present a challenging, enriching, and supportive academic program to all our students. In addition to our core curricular offerings. Guild School offers Unity.com, an after-school academic enrichment program that targets academically at-risk students in grades 3-5. In this program, students are given tutorials in the areas of reading, math, homework, and also enjoy organized recreational activities. In 2007,Guild was the first large elementary school in Sumner County to become a “school-wide” Title One school, enabling our staff to provide assistance to ALL students, not just those formerly labeled, “Title One” students. Our highly successful Title One program, called “R.E.A.C.H.” (Reading Empowers All Children’s Hopes), enables us to expand our academic and tutorial services and assistance to all Guild students. Guild also offers a comprehensive Special Education program that consists of CDC and Resource pullout and inclusion classes.
Parents: your assistance at Guild School is welcomed and appreciated. You can serve as a room parent; help your child's teacher by being a reading buddy to students; chaperone field trips; chaperone school dances and other on-campus events; helping teachers take care of copying needs and other similar tasks; tutoring students; assisting with our Book Fair; and helping with our fundraiser deliveries. Check out 5 Houses of Guild tab to find out about being a House parent.
Thank you for visiting our website and we welcome you to visit often!
